Just finished booking tickets for Cody to come visit! I’m so excited! I wish my friends would all hop in his suitcase and come, too. Callie and Kacy need to get their butts up here. Don’t even get me started on the Disney friends… Reunions must occur.

Cody will be here for 8 days! It’s going to be great. And, he’ll get to see us perform for RAMS! Just like the old days…

Well- Sammie went home to KC for the weekend so I am all alone in 201. She left me with lots of snacks, lots of homework, and lots of space to craft tonight! But I miss her already, which is kind of pitiful. Anywayyyyys. This weekend is going to be busy and so great… Paige and I are going SHOPPING TOMORROW, and I’m ready to go crazy. But i’ll attempt to control myself. More soon!

What a weird day it’s been.

Today is my one year anniversary of my Disney College Program beginning. It was this day last year when I got to Orlando, and started my new life! Also when I met Jessi, one of the best friends I will ever have. I can’t imagine the last year of my life without her in it. Today I’ve been so nostalgic and I cant stop thinking about all of the great times I had there. I miss it so much!

I’ve been super super homesick today. Which doesn’t happen this badly very often. I love it here, but today was a ROUGH day! And thinking about Disney made it worse! Good news: the weather here has been incredible. That’s one reason why I haven’t blogged lately. I’ve been outside! Good news again: I’m still working out every single day and eating fairly well… hahah…. Bad news: it’s 12:12am and I have class in the morning, but I’m not tired. Which is going to be a problem come 9am.

I just wrote Hunter a letter! It’s one of those nights. I miss high school. And why am I the only one that does? Whatever.

My sister is going to Guatemala on a mission trip in two weeks! I’m so excited for her. Please keep her in your prayers! I know God is going to do great things through her. Which rocks.

Speaking of rocks, I made the RAMS Rock It’ dance team… It’s about time. So we’re going to rock our socks off and lip sync like there’s no tomorrow. I am SO excited! Can’t wait to participate. Since I was gone for RAMS last year, I am so pumped to see what it’s all about. Theta has won the competition FIVE YEARS IN A ROW! Go Theta! I love it.

Also, there are a million other things I want to type right now. Currently listening to Sugarland. Currently hungry. Also, I started my Disney Campus Rep job this week. It’s going to be fun! I’m excited to see what we’ll do for our first presentation in two weeks! We have lots to do before then. That week, I think Cody is going to come visit! We are working on airfare right now. So, WOOOO!

I love Sugarland.

And I’m in this country music phase that I can’t escape… But don’t get me wrong. I’ve always loved country. But usually I mix it up every day. Not lately! Yeehaw.

What an interesting start to the week… I don’t remember what my last post was about. But I do know I have a million things I want to write about… Mainly concerning complaints about the Journalism school and great praise about the Rascal Flatts concert. However, as most nights go here at the Theta house, I have been swamped and my anxiety is continuously skyrocketing. I think what’s best for me at this time is a nice episode of Glee and my new Vogue magazine (Taylor Swift on the front, you better go buy one) and then some much needed sleep.

An essay kept me up until the wee hours of the night last night and today was a SUPER productive day! I’m proud of myself but also aware that I may be falling to pieces if the year continues to be as pure crazy as this past two weeks has been. Anywho, everything’s fine. I’ve got stickynotes literally ALL OVER THIS BEDROOM with to-do lists and reminders.. Including one that says, “take your pills, lexi” and “lexi, have you worked out today?” upon many other interesting sayings addressed to yours truly. Believe it or not, these notes keep me sane as can be. Spanish homework, Journalism reports, reading current events, Theatre online discussion boards, and the occasional episode of Glee or Pretty Little Liars has been my life for the past few days. Not too shabby. I have been missing Disney as usual, but loving walking through the great weather on campus and realizing how lucky I am to be here at Mizzou with these fabulous people in this fabulous place! 603 has my heart. For those of you who don’t know, we refer to Theta as “603” and there is also a super catchy song about it, that I will sing for you upon request at any time.

If you finish reading this post and you’re still not ready to put your computer away, you should go watch the most recent Pretty Little Liars on abcfamily.com, or engage in a lovely episode of One Tree Hill on cwtv.com, because those shows made my day today so much better. They motivate me to finish homework and remember to relax from time to time.

My butt is being kicked my freaking Jillian Michaels.

If you have never heard of her DVD: Ripped in 30, go look it up. Because I’m on Day 7 of level 1 and I’m feeling crazy. Her workouts are INTENSE, and that’s about all I need to say. But from here on out, when my blog posts consist of multiple detailed Jillian Michaels complaints, this is why. For seven days, she has been pushing me to sweat my butt off. My new purple yoga mat, and two brand new sets of purple weights have motivated me to keep going and one day i’m going to be super duper in shape.

I waited to long to blog again! That’s because my life was filled with FUN yesterday. Got to spend the afternoon playing Just Dance 3 on my new Wii with my best friends! Then topped it off with a Jillian Michaels workout DVD (I’m warning you, if you’ve never done one, be prepared, they’re brutal) and I’m guessing this blog will continue to include complaints about the wonderful things Jillian is doing for me. My legs are so sore I could hardly get down off my top bunk this morning. We also watched The Proposal last night, always a favorite. But tonight might even top yesterday…. Rascal Flatts, Hunter Hayes, and Sara Evans concert at Mizzou Arena :)!!!!!!! Got the tickets for my birthday and I’ve been looking forward to it for so long! I’m listening to my playlist that I made with those three artists right now and getting all pumped up. But first, I have to go to Geology class…. So on the way there I’m stopping for Starbucks with Maggie. Naturally.

Well, school is school. I love the new routine, I love the new bedroom, and I’m actually waking up on time for once in my life. But classes still suck and Journalism is still going to be the death of me, which is quite frustrating. But, my Acting for Non-Majors class is going to be a blast. As I told Sammie yesterday, “I’m pretty sure I’m the coolest one in there, by far,” meaning I will soon be the Sharpay Evans of my class and the rest of them (who were terribly boring and a little on the dumber side) should be interesting to watch perform. I know that’s harsh, but, I doubt they’re reading this blog. All I can think about is Journalism and how these two courses are going to be sooooo stressful! One is Cross-Cultural Journalism and the other is News Writing.. Both of which are the opposite of Lexi. But enough about school.

I miss Disney World. Every day. I miss those people, and I miss home. And my heart SOOOO misses Cody! But it’s been so nice to be back, and I feel so at ease with this routine and I get a lot more time to relax here than I did at home over the break.. Because I was busy world traveling. So it’s bitter sweet, but I know this is where I’m meant to be! Finally got my iPhone 4 back (did i already blog about that?) and yesterday Cody got his new iPhone 4s! So we will soon be caught up with the rest of the technological world and FaceTime is soon to come. That’s about all I have right now….. Looking forward to only two classes tomorrow and a weekend full of freedom, shopping, and Just Dance 3. The usual.

I’m blogging from the Theta house for the first time in 2012! I am (sort of) moved in and now back up on my new top bunk in room 201. Everything went fairly smoothly today, considering I had a 6am flight out of Lafayette. Connections in Dallas were easy and I got into Kansas City just in time for a little mayhem, a quick shower, and a stop by the Apple store to pick up my new iPhone. We got to Columbia around 7:00 and I’ve been unpacking ever since. Seven hours straight of loading and unloading while rearranging the room has got our feet throbbing and my body aching! It feels so great to be laying in my bed. Love being back at Theta! BUT most importantly, today is CODY’S 20TH BIRTHDAY and LAUREN’S 19TH BIRTHDAY! Two of my very favorite people. I’m so sad I didn’t get to really celebrate with them. Cody drove me to the airport at the crack of dawn and then I had to head out…. But we had a great week together at home. Got lots of fun squeezed into the past couple of days. Lots to blog about! But for now, sleep is probably my best bet. I’ve been awake for 22 hours now! I can’t believe it. Here’s to an exciting Theta-filled week!

Allison’s here! We had so much fun together in Disney last week that we felt the need to reunite again. She has only a three hour drive here from her house in Texas so she came yesterday afternoon and we’re just hannngginn out. We just woke up (and yes, it’s noon). That is the beauty of Christmas break, and this is the first week I’ve been able to sleep in since school let out. It’s ridiculous. And my body’s not going to know how to act next week when classes start. But last night we watched Kicking & Screaming (an all time favorite and definite must-see) and now we’re getting ready to go enjoy some quality Starbucks time. Typical. Just saw a friend’s tweet about leaving for Disney World tonight, and AH it makes me crazy. We skyped with Kyle last night and talked all about his program (he’s going back down for another internship next week) and he keeps bragging to us about how he has eight more magical months in Orlando. It’s cruel! But so great talking to him and being with Allison, of course. Up next: tomorrow we’ve got some pretty fun plans with the girls. Hopefully pictures, too? We’ll see. I am just now starting to love this break and simultaneously realizing it’s coming to an end. Yikes.

Today we went to the park! Fed the ducks, invaded the playground, and spent time with my best friends. I miss Disney so much today! So glad I got to spend time with Cody, but we couldn’t help constantly bringing up our trip and comparing today to the beautiful Florida weather. Great day overall, and great cookie cake to top it off! Maybe I’m not quite ready to leave home just yet…

Home again! The drive back from Disney World was pretty long, but went fairly well! It’s so good to be back and I cleaned my room yesterday, along with most of the house, which felt fabulous. I’m all organized and ready to start packing up for Como again. Yesterday was basically just cleaning and then getting ready for the BCS National Championship game… We had a little party with some friends, even though only one of us goes to LSU. I was rooting for Bama mostly, but honestly didn’t really care. Sported my Bama shirt and LSU shorts, with face paint for each team on one cheek. The game itself was lame. But roll tide! And….. then we played Just Dance. And… then I went to bed and slept way too late and Callie and I are pissed because it’s not good bike riding weather. I miss Florida already! SO MUCH!

In other news, I skipped Pretty Little Liars to watch the game and now I need to go catch up on the latest and greatest in Rosewood. I am obsessed with this show. Gotta go watch!

This has been such an amazing trip! I can’t believe it’s already over. I’m going to have to blog my life away tomorrow and describe every moment of fun and magic and wonderfulness that we experienced while we were here. We’re driving home early early in the morning and I really should be sleeping right now. Today we went to Hollywood Studios again, then Animal Kingdom for a bit, and finally back to Downtown Disney! (We just can’t get enough of that place) So it was definitely a big day. I’m so sad to be leaving, but excited for another week at home in Lafayette. Then the travels continue… And good golly miss molly, I will miss these shorts and tshirts. This weather is incredible and I can almost feel the Missouri snow laughing at me already… But I’m hoping for a few more good bike rides and some fun with the besties before I head back to school. More soon! And all the Disney details you could ever want (and pictures!) will be coming tomorrow.

Home sweet home! It feels so great to be back in Orlando. After a pretty easy twelve hour drive yesterday from Lafayette, Cody and I arrived safely to the greatest city on Earth! We ate at Buffalo Wild Wings, where I was forced to sit in a crowd of Kansas Jayhawks and Kansas State Wildcat fans! After inhaling some delicious calories there, we got some rest and started Day 1 at the outlet mall! It’s about half a mile from my old apartment and it was so exciting/sad/weird to drive by our old complex and remember all of my daily routines from driving to the Magic Kingdom etc etc etc. BUT, we joined Allison, Casey, Brandon, and Josh around lunch time and had a fabulous meal at the Beach & Yacht Club (oooh, fancy) then explored Downtown Disney. I love it there! Didn’t get much shopping in, but we can’t really afford too much…. So it’s all good. We met up with my Disney friends again for dinner at Wolfgang Puck, which was an interesting experience, to say the least. But the food was great and we’re closing Day 1 with lots of excitement for tomorrow- Starting the day off at Magic Kingdom! So excited to go back and see everyone/ everything that I’ve missed so much since June. I honestly forgot how much I love it here. Feels so wonderful to be here! I’m so blessed to have such an AWESOME place to call my home away from home. More tomorrow

Up Next: Walt Disney World

Got back safe last night into Lafayette and got to see Cody for a little bit before crashing after the INTENSE premiere of Pretty Little Liars. My sister had to sleep with me because we were so scared. But that’s beside the point. Today I spent the WHOLE day with Callie, and we went on a four mile bike ride and enjoyed some of our favorite places in town, then played Just Dance and went to McCallister’s/ Target (two places we love) so it was all around a great day. However, I failed to mention that I’ve been hardcore working out for this “New Year” nonsense and I can hardly feel my body. The past three days I’ve been brutal to my out of shape body, and today it all caught up with me. I’m actually waiting on my mom to bring me the Advil and heating pad as I’m typing this. And I’m sitting in the only position that doesn’t kill me. Which is still very uncomfortable. So making it through the day was a success. Cody came and helped me pack a little bit… because TOMORROW we leave for DISNEY WORLD. And I can’t explain to you, or even to myself, how excited I am.

So my next post will be from Orlando, and I can’t wait to see what comes next. Allison, Casey, Brandon, Josh, and a few other friends from my internship are already down there and we will all be reunited tomorrow! It’s been so long. I haven’t been to Orlando since my program ended in June, and I’ve heard that a lot has changed. I’m looking forward to exploring the Magic Kingdom as a GUEST and not a Castmember, which should be interesting… I love knowing Disney secrets. I’m obsessed with that place. Just to clarify though; there’s a LOT more to my life than Disney. K thanks. -L

One goal for the new year is to keep up with this blog! I did so well with my Disney blog during my internship, and I have really regretting not being more dedicated to it this school year. Although I did well for quite a while… Honestly, I quit blogging when I started watching Gossip Girl. But I recently finished (Yes, all four seasons on Netflix) and I do apologize to all the friends I made fun of in high school.. It’s actually an awesome show and I judged too quickly. But come on, it’s called Gossip Girl. Really? I will say…. I love Blair Waldorf. And I can’t wait to see season five, so no spoilers please :)
I’m not quite sure why I blog. It’s not that I really think people care about reading these random thoughts and tid bits about my life. I think I do it for me, which is weird. But being a writer and a Journalism student, I guess it’s kind of self-explanatory. I love typing. I love the sound of typing on my precious pink keyboard. And I love going back and reading these posts after a while and making fun of myself while remembering the ridiculous things I say. So if you’re reading this, I almost feel bad for you. You probably have enough Lexi in your life as it is… And yet here you are, wanting more! What can I say.

Happy New Year! This was an exciting one for me and for my family. Although I spent it sitting in a house full of children and parents, I ended up enjoying myself. We had a party at my Dad’s house (like we do every single year) with the same group of friends we usually spend each New Years Eve with, except this year we added even more. I was the only person between the ages of 16 and 40. But it was interesting.. So excited about this year and I know it’s going to bring great things.

So far this Christmas break, this is where I’ve been.

Kansas City, MO -> Lafayette, LA -> Peachtree City, GA -> Kansas City, MO (then Marshall, MO to Grandma’s) -> and tomorrow I fly back home to Lafayette. It’s been insane! The traveling only continues after that… But I’ll fill you in more on that later this week.
The break has been great. But I’m super busy… It’s amazing to me that so many people spend winter break at home in bed watching movies or having sleepovers with friends, or even working. I’ve spent every break since 6th grade just traveling my life away. Most people are jealous, but it’s exhausting. But I’m very blessed and it’s always an adventure with the Hayobs..

My New Years resolutions are pretty solid this year. I’m going to tell you more about them soon, but for now I need to focus on getting ready to go HOME! Can’t wait to see Cody, Callie, and the Lafayette crew. But only for a day….

at memorial union with lauren studying for my millions of exams coming up…. it’s 9:13pm and i haven’t been home since 11am…. which means yes, i’ve almost been studying for twelve hours, with the exception of two class periods. in which i studied under my desk. and; lauren convinced me to get starbucks at 8pm. so the iced latte wonderful heavenly goodness has now kicked in and i’m wired, completely unfocused, and there’s a rare chance that this will be fading soon. i’m so hyper! i love memorial union. and my late study dates with friends… the music taste that i’ve had today has been amazing (if i do say so myself). i’ve listened to such a good mix of relaxing songs while studying today. if you guys have never listened to christina grimmie, so find her on youtube or her new album on itunes. i’ve been watching her grow for years and she has soooo much talent… it goes great with political science study sessions. other suggestions?

this busy life is getting the best of me -

this semester hasn’t slowed down yet at all! had a spanish test today so for the past few days i was preparing for that exam. went to the home game on saturday… sad loss to oklahoma state. got lots of relaxing snuggle time with the roomies and enjoyed a great birthday celebration at houlihan’s and bowling with some fabulous friends. much needed fun night out. but what i’m most excited about is GOING HOME TO LAFAYETTE ON SATURDAY! i’m counting down by the hour, ready to see cody and the family and even gracie the poodle. talking to callie every day has made it so much harder to wait until i get to give her a huge hug! there are so many things i love about home. wooooooo! almost 20 years old. almost my favorite holiday ever; but i still don’t know what i’m dressing up as. panera internship has me booked solid, i feel like it’s all i ever do. went to hip hop class tonight at columbia performing arts centre with hannah and kerri- felt so great to be back on the dance floor. speaking of, i’ve been working out a lot lately! sammie and i seem to have found a real knack for late night bikerides, study dates, and rec sessions. i’m not sure what else i have to say, other than i really miss disney world and i honestly wish i could live there forever. just gotta pass this college chapter of my life…… that’s all for now. better go study so that my dreams may someday become reality. cheesy but true. xoxo!
